Removing Rug Dye From Carpet

Dip a clean white cloth in the solution and dab it repeatedly on the spot. Rinse the carpet by applying warm water without soaking the carpet. Next blot the area dry with a clean dry cloth or paper towel.
After 30 minutes vacuum with the carpet with a standard vacuum cleaner. Apply a small amount of the shampoo to the area with a wet clean cloth. Blot or gently stroke the carpet pile. In a bowl or bucket mix 2 cups 0 47 l of warm water with 1 teaspoon 4 9 ml of dish soap and 1 tablespoon 15 ml of ammonia.
An optional step is to clean the area with a carpet shampoo. Now give the rug a healthy sprinkle of baking soda. Rug dye can sometimes bleed from the rug onto the carpet. Place a paper towel over the carpet and iron on warm setting.
Dye stains are difficult to treat. Vacuum or blot up the excess. Get your cloth damp then press it on the dye spot. Rinse by blotting the area with a clean cloth moistened with clean water.
Continue dipping your cloth into the solution and pressing it back onto the spot watching the dye come up from the carpet onto the cloth. Dampen a folded piece of absorbent cloth with warm water to which a few drops of dishwashing liquid have been added.
