Remove Cracks From Vinyl Records

Rinse the brush with distilled water once you start to see dirt and lint gathering on the bristles.

Remove cracks from vinyl records. Use light pressure and long strokes when brushing. A carbon fiber brush is the best tool to remove dust and particles from our records. Where the crack is roll this part of the vinyl into the super glue at a vertical angle like below. Once the track is selected click on effect click removal.

To remove pop clicks from the entire recording you can do this by pressing ctrl a or select all from the edit menu. Place a clean soft towel or sheet on top of a table or clean hard surface and lay your record on top. Usually i ve found that the default threshold values work fine most of the time but feel free to play around wih them a bit to get the sound you desire. With a few easily attainable tools and a lot of patience one can make take the film off making it look like it was never there.

Make sure you are extremely gentle when rolling the record in the glue and take extra care not to get the glue in the groves. This may not fix the scratch but it can help remove any surface debris from your vinyl. Also wet cleaning our records by using a velvet brush and a proper record cleaning fluid should be done from time to time. A good habit is to give our records a quick dry clean with a carbon fiber brush before every play.

Take your time when cleaning with a toothpick and be careful not to scratch other areas of your record.
