You may also want to try an enzyme based pool chemical. Dip the soft bristled brush into the mixture and scrub the stain. This may quickly remove greenish brown colored stains that build up from organic stains. If this lightens the stain try exposing the stained section to the sun as much as possible for several weeks.

If you are worried about damaging the vinyl you may use a lower pressure pump sprayer. Then rinse with clean water. Too much copper iron calcium or salts can all result in vinyl liner staining or marks. Oxalic acid is the solution for stubborn rust stains.
Mix a strong solution of siding cleaner or other strong detergent and hot water. Remember not to angle the sprayer upward to keep the solution from seeping under the siding layers. Change the paper towel or cloth frequently to avoid spreading stain until the stain is removed.
